Fashion Magazine Anaylsis Using LIIAR

The reason I am analysing a fashion magazine is because It was an idea of mine to do a fashion college magazine, and I thought it if I anaylised this, it would help me when it comes to designing my magazine. It also has a lot of similarities with a college magazine.

Language - On this magazine there is a masthead, the masthead is the title of the magazine in a white font 'Vogue'. There is a date and price next to this, also in a white font. The subheading are in a theme of colour, hot pink, orange and white. The colour theme matches the one of the subheadings. 'Cheryls fresh start'. Since the colours are fresh, this really matches the colour scheme and the image. There is an image of Cheryl cole holding flowers which also go with the same slogan.
Institution - The institution is Vogue. This institution focus's on fashion and the final product is just about fashion. The image on the front cover is purley on fashion and when styling Cheryl they knew they had to dress her to the theme of this months magazine.
Ideology - The ideology of this magazine is to inform people about the latest fashion trends and stories. It also gives style advice, and tells you whats going on in the world of fashion.
Audience - The audience for this magazine is people ages 16-40, this is because this magazine has been running for such a long time. Also teenagers like this magazine to look at the cover stars and to flick through the fashion advertisements. People who have a wide interest in fashion will also buy this magazine too, and college students who have either taken fashion or textiles will find this magazine very interesting and educational.
Representation - Beautiful, stylish women are been represented on this cover shot, as Cheryl Cole shows. People will buy this magazine thinking that there will be tips inside on how to be that beautiful or atleast try to look like she does.
